Portrayed in detail on this particular example, the male figure
on this plate and on others like it is wearing a headdress or
diadem with rays on it that emanate from a spherical body, from
which it has been deduced that this referred to the sun. Seated
on a half-moon shaped base like a snake, he is resting on two
horizontal bars that are held up by auxiliary beings with the
heads of birds or feline figures.
